Healing You, Head to Toe

Bottles of Homeopathy Globules

Ketamine Infusions by Tejas Anesthesia Inc was initiated  by Dr Douglas Shapiro,M.D. a Board Certified Anesthesiologist. After observing suffering for years patients with  chronic disease treated with traditional treatment methods failing, Dr Shapiro decided to research alternative methods of healing.

Ketamine Infusion Therapy quickly became a passion, which Dr Shapiro studied for   before deciding to share the knowledge gained with the members of Harris County. Dr Shapiro opened Ketamine Infusions by Tejas Anesthesia Inc and  plays an active part in the center. Each session at Ketamine Infusions by Tejas Anesthesia Inc begins with a thorough review of the patient. Based on that review, our staff of experts determine the best treatments for each individual. Mission

Our mission at Ketamine Infusions by Tejas Anesthesia Inc is to provide our patients with an integrated   approach to healing. We do not fix problems. Rather, we enrich our patients’ lives by teaching them how to self-heal and by helping them unlock their healing potential.

I founded Ketamine Infusions by Tejas Anesthesia Inc    in order to fill a gap in the world of modern medicine practices. Our staff at Ketamine Infusions by Tejas Anesthesia Inc considers each patient individually in order to determine a series of treatments that will encourage each individual body to heal itself. Ketamine Infusion Procedure – What to Expect

Our Patient Coordinator or nurse will check you in and get you comfortably settled in a treatment room. We recommend that you have a friend or relative come with you, and that they sit with you during at least your first treatment at our clinic.

You will be seated in a reclining chair with a pillow and blanket. A pulse oximeter will be placed on your finger to monitor your pulse and the oxygen level in your blood. A cuff will be placed on your arm to monitor your blood pressure. If necessary, ECG leads to monitor your heart’s rhythm and activity will be placed on your chest.

Our anesthesiologist will confirm your dose of ketamine and Versed if you have chosen to use any. He will then numb a vein with buffered Lidocaine and will insert an intravenous line into your arm through which the medication will be administered. Some of our patients occasionally experience nausea, mild “floating”, or dizziness. If you experience nausea, we will immediately treat it with an IV dose of an anti-nausea medication.

You will be awake during the ketamine infusion and able to interact with those around you. We encourage you to relax and drift off during your infusion. Many patients like to listen to music, you are welcome to bring your own music and headphones if you wish.

Once the ketamine infusion begins the lights will be dimmed. Your nurse or doctor will check on you every few minutes or so to make sure you are comfortable and to adjust the IV drip if needed.

Unlike most other ketamine clinics, you will NOT be left alone for the duration of your treatment with only a camera watching over you.

We are here with you every step of the way to ensure you have a safe, pleasurable and healing experience.

The infusion itself lasts for about 45 minutes and there is an approximate 30-minute recovery period.
